We're having a snow day today. We were supposed to go to the mountains, to stay in a cabin in Estes Park. This morning, however, amid blowing snow, we received a phone call from the cabin...um...people to tell us that they were getting inches upon inches of snow, and were closing down for the weekend. Our reservations were promptly moved to April, and we were left with a somewhat relieved parent (me - I have a work-related deadline that was going to be tough to meet otherwise), and a pretty upset kiddo (Zach - he loves the cabin visits). Oh, and a suddenly open weekend.
We were able to fill the day up (surprise, surprise) with shoveling of the driveway, sledding, a trip to the gym, a trip to the library, lunch and a nap. Now, as we wait for Babi and Grandpa to come over for dinner, Seth and I are taking care of our "To Do" lists, and the boys are trying to decide on a movie to watch. Zach has pulled out every movie from our entertainment center, making some pretty impressively tall stacks, which he christened a "garden of movie flowers", and Alex is grumpy because both Zach and I vetoed his pick. I just couldn't watch Cars again.
The snow is pretty, but after 5 months of snow and cold temps, we're all ready for a warm spring and summer!
