Zach thinks everything is ridiculous...I finally got him to say this on video, and it is hilarious!

Baby Puppies!!
Seth's sister, Keri, has a girl and boy Pomeranian; they just had their first litter of puppies a couple of weeks ago. We took the boys over to see the "baby puppies" (Zach's name for them) when they were first born - they were cute, but kind of icky at the same time...no hair, etc. Last week, we took the boys back over, and the puppies are sooo cute now!! They are all fluffy and look like tiny little bears. Here are some pictures of the kids playing with them:

Pearly Whites
Zach had his first dentist visit. We were pretty nervous taking him in, thinking he would be afraid to let them clean his teeth. He did great! The hygienist was really sweet - she let him squirt her water-squirter thing, which he thought was really cool, and she showed him how the cleaning tool tickled his finger before tickling his teeth. He opened "wide like a crocodile," and we sang the song from"The Wonder Pets Save the Baby Crocodile": "Teeth that are dirty can become very hurty; we know what to do: we will clean your teeth for you!" That made getting his teeth cleaned very fun, because we love the Wonder Pets (we taught the song to the hygienist for her future use). He let her floss his teeth, do a fluoride treatment, and even let the dentist check his teeth...no cavities! At the end, they let him pick out a toy from a special drawer. After hemming and hawing for a few minutes, he finally chose a bouncy ball - he's been carrying it around for the last couple of days. All in all, everyone left the dentist a lot happier than we were when we arrived...how many times can you say that in life?

Little Foodie
So, Alex loves food. Not baby food, real food. If you eat in front of him, he will kick his legs, wave his arms, lick his lips, and make all kinds of baby noises until you give him a little piece of whatever you're eating. Once he's finished what you've given him, he'll do it all over again.
Last week, I was feeding both boys a lunch of this recipe Seth makes called "German Skillet" - hamburger, tomato sauce, rice and sauerkraut (it is really good). Zach needed something, so I put down the bowl of Alex's food on the table while I leaned over to get Zach what he needed. Fast as lightening, Alex grabbed his bowl and dumped it out on his high chair tray - before I could even react, he had two fists full of food jammed into his mouth.
I figured, he's already made a mess, I may as well just let him go at it. That kid ate everything I had in the bowl for him, half of his brother's plate and a bowl of Jello. Since everything he ate was red, I ended up having to throw away the onesies he was wearing, and give him a bath...his little hands were still stained red for about a day afterward! It was worth it - he was so happy!
