Mom's Tea at Preschool

Zach's preschool held a "Mom's Tea" in February. The kids made pretty "flowers," and sang songs for us as we ate a yummy breakfast. Then, we were treated to a slideshow of portraits of the moms drawn by their kids. Each portrait was accompanied by a mom-scription from the kids. Here's mine:

Does my kid know me, or what? And, yes, I cried.

Welcome to the Thirtysomethings

It actually happened. I turned 30. I don't know why this is such a shock to me - after all, it's not like I didn't know it was coming. I should feel blessed, and I do, to start this new decade of life. And, really, is 30 all that old? Not these days. So, I've decided to grin and bear it. Although I still cringe a little when I say it out loud, or enter it into the machines at the gym, I'm coming to terms with being included in the "thirtysomething" crowd. At least I know I'm in good company.

My sweet husband threw me an 80's themed party; he went all out, ordering life-sized cutouts of Hulk Hogan and Han Solo, 80's sunglasses and Pop Rocks. Thanks to our family and friends for getting into the spirit, and for helping us celebrate!

Updates to the Blog are Forthcoming

So, despite my vow at the end of last year, and my promising start to blog postings in 2010, I've gotten behind again. My only excuse is that we've been so busy living life, I haven't had time to blog life. I don't want to get too far behind, so I'm updating before this gets out of hand...since I have fourteen (!) topics on my list of updates, I shudder to imagine what "out of hand" looks like.
